đïž Mount Vardablur & Dragon Gorge
đ Mount Vardablur is in Armeniaâs Vayots Dzor province, near the villages of Zedea and Gnishik. đș Its twin peaks look like a wolfâs or bearâs ears from a distance, which is where the mountain gets its nickname, âGayli Akanjnerâ (Wolfâs Ears).
đ„Ÿ The trail starts in Zedea, about 140 km from Yerevan. Itâs a 17 km round trip with 1327 m of elevation gain to the 2455 m summit, which has wide views over the southern highlands. đ
đ On the way, we walk into Vishapi Kirch (Dragon Gorge), a narrow natural canyon on the mountainâs slopes. đ° On the western side stands Proshaberd, a 13th-century fortress.
âš This route combines a mountain hike, a canyon walk and medieval history in one day.
